Most community service programs accept students from grades 8 - 12. The youngest student allowed to participate in most programs are 14. Boys and girls are allowed to work together in a co-ed atmosphere. Most of the programs are small groups of between 14-18 participants.

Safety and Supervision during the community service programs

  • Students are chaperoned at all times.
  • When they are in family stay situations, the program staff will be living in the village with them. They will be able to interact with their group in daily activities and at many evening programs structuring their time.
  • The students are able to connect with staff at any time.
  • Some of the community service projects provide students living with their peers in group housing and/or dorms as they participating in local community projects.
